A Fairy Princess Party

Bonjour everyone! I'm back from blogging hiatus and wanted to share photos of the party I planned for my sweet niece, Bella Bambina's 1st birthday. The theme is fairy princess and the colors are different shades of pink. Warning: lots and lots of eye candy photos!

This was a low budget party so most of the decor were from Michael's Arts and Crafts, Joann Fabrics and the Dollar Tree ;)

I made this butterfly theme giant cupcake

And also made 100 cupcakes

The party was in a sheltered gazebo at a park

I hung 35 fairy wings all around the gazebo and gave them to the children as favors

These are the magic wands I made

Those are paper crowns (I added stickers and glitters), the magic wands with flowers and ribbons, and little metal pails to put their candies

Here's Bella Bambina, the star of the show :)

And her big sister Sky. They are both wearing fairy outfits with wings

This is my favorite photo...the little fairies resting, with their wings, wands and crowns...it just makes all the hard work worthwhile :)

So cute to watch the children run around with their wings, and that's mon cheri, all the kids love him, he was the "Fairy Godfather" that day.

Even the young adults had their fairy wings on :)

We also had face painting that day! Here's my aunt, she's a professional artist so all the little girls went to her for butterfly face painting.

Mon cheri trying his face painting skills

Bella's Mom and Dad...so happy!!!

C'est moi with my daughter enjoying one of my cupcakes, and I'm feeding Bella Bambina

C'est moi, mon cheri and little Sky after the party...all tired but still smiling :)

And the poor tired Bella Bambina, exhausted after entertaining her many many guests.

The party was a great success! I seriously think that having "theme" parties makes a huge difference as it adds a certain "glamour and magic" to an otherwise boring just another kid's party. And you don't even have to spend boat loads of money, all you need is a little creativity and imagination!!!
