I have a few species of lavender in my front yard; French, Spanish and most recently planted English lavender. The English lavender just started blooming this year and their flowers are certainly very different than French and Spanish. English lavender has pointier and spiky shape, and also much more fragrant.

Meanwhile these deep purple gladiolas are all blooming too fast and are so heavyweight that they are all leaning down so close to the ground. I ended up cutting them all.

Oh and I got new pair of gloves that match my garden boots

I make it a habit to wear garden gloves especially when it comes time to pruning and bringing in my cut flowers. Helps prevent chafed hands and scratches.

Before I forget, let me introduce you to the new staff member at Marie's Maison.

She's French and c'est chic. Here's her head shot...

And body shot...oooh la la!

I'm pretty sure Madame French Girl can pull her weight around here. Today she carries lavender, tomorrow maybe a baguette or some croissants.

Madame French Girl is sooooo cute. My daughter has one in her room. It gets dressed in all the latest tween and young teen fashions *giggles* Your bench and lavender is pretty!!!!! :D I did not know that English lavender is so much more fragrant than French...I learned something new!
Love lavender, I have some in my garden, barely getting green, winters here are very harsh. I also have some gladiolas but they don't bloom until August, they are peeking through the soil right now. I love Madame French Girl, I'm sure you will be dressing her for every occasion.
Have a wonderful day Marie!
