My Life in a Tiffany Bleu House

I painted Marie's Maison Tiffany Bleu as a reminder that this is the best jewelry box I ever received!

For the Love of Ladders

What is it about vintage ladders that I find so irresistible? I mean we've all seen it in pages of magazines and blog posts over and over again, and yet it's hard not to do a double take when we see them. Is it just me, or do you agree?

(First three photos above via Poetic Home)

Let me show you another ladder I bought (my third...yikes!) at the Irvine Flea Market recently. Some of you may have seen my second one below where I did a post last August.

Well here's the latest addition to my ladder collection (what...who collects ladders??? I have a sickness!!!) This one is honest to goodness vintage. I love the "X" factor on its back side (hah!).

I love how there's so many layers of paint drops all over...I can't even imagine how many rooms this baby has painted!

And love, love, love it's metal handle/carrier...I haven't seen this style before so, can't help but carry her home with me, now residing in mon cheri's man cave.

By the way, wishing you all a nice Halloween celebration.
Happy Halloween!

I couldn't believe it when I opened your post,I had only a few hours before commented to my husband about vintage wooden ladders, and how I would love one to hang my vintage tea towels in the kitchen. Then, there you were blogging about the exact same thing. I love your new addition and yes, love the spots of paint too. x

Oh Yes, I love ladders, too. I have two, one in my living room and one in my summer porch that has been turned into a junk room now that summer is over. Your last one is fabulous! I love the way you decorated it, that fab clock and the huge globe are wonderful!!!

You've got some great ladders there, Marie! I love how you stacked the books on the first one. And how cool is that 2nd ladder with the paint splashes? When I brought one home like that (splashes and all), my husband was wondering why in the world I wouldn't sand it down to get rid of the old paint. Ha ha!
