My Life in a Tiffany Bleu House

I painted Marie's Maison Tiffany Bleu as a reminder that this is the best jewelry box I ever received!

Fleurs Fraîches

Fleurs fraîches - fresh cut flowers of the spring season from mon petit jardin

These very pretty flowers sprung from my front garden just this week

Fresh smelling freesias just waiting to be picked!

These are called Chamaelaucium uncinatum, which I cannot pronounce, so let's call her "wax flowers."

My sweet scented pink jasmine

Darling daisies peeking through my picket fence

When I pick flowers from my garden, I fill up this water can with clean warm water and immediately soak them in.

So here they are in my vintage milk bottles

And finally, just putting them all together in my little corner of mon petit cottage.

Merci beaucoup to my new blog friend Tracie from Fishtail Cottage for hosting such fun "Cottage Flora Thursdays"

Signs of Spring

After a downpour of heavy rain last week, I'm so ecstatic to see some signs of spring here at Marie's Maison.

This Momma hummingbird built her nest just three weeks ago, and now here are her two tiny baby hummers. Isn't this the sweetest thing ever?

In my front yard, already getting a profusion of white flowers

And the sweetest smelling scent of pink jasmine!

These white chippy garden pieces are my latest finds from a salvage yard. The pair of shutters, balusters and metal bistro set were priced right at $70 dollars. They are just impossibly irresistible.

My kind of look for spring!

And these pieces?...Thrift store jackpot finds

The night stands are now transformed to these

More thrift store finds...a collection of glass bottles

A 3-tiered etagere

Vintage inspired flower buckets

I made these bundled vintage books, a Restoration Hardware knock-off...only better ;-)

Mostly now for sale in mon petite shoppe at Olde Ivy Antiques

New Haul for Mon Petit Shoppe

It's my third month in mon petite shoppe and z'business is doing well. I hope you don't mind me talking shop, but this week, I'm excited to show my new haul from different sources. These mostly vintage and reproduction finds are going to le shoppe and hopefully find new homes.

Let's start with this "parisian" stool good enough for royalty

Speaking of royalty, how about a crown to take home and feel like a queen of your own domain

This pitcher and bowl set could be perfect on someone's vanity or fill it up with white tulips for a kitchen display. But what I really love is this metal basket lined with burlap, embellished with buttons and lace, lookie...even the handle is covered! How q-uuut is that???

These vintage linens are just uh-mazing finds too! I'm filling up the little "frenchy" bags with lavender, et voila...instant sachets for ladies' drawers

Everytime I see these vintage scales, I just can't help myself. With a matching "french" sack, I'm like ready for the Paris flea market...Ooh la la!

And a few more vintage finds that I just couldn't pass up...

Also starting to bring in some signs of spring here in my space at Olde Ivy...

Finally, remember these chairs I found three weeks ago when I did a post about my new secretary?

Here they are: re-vamped and re-claimed!

I spray painted this baby with "Robin's Egg" paint, recovered the cushion with white burlap and ironed-on this birdcage image (I'm also GAGA for birdcages right now, can't you tell?).

I distressed this chair using "greige" paint combo and recovered the cushion with the last of my "Paris" map linen fabric. I was going to sell it, but mon cheri snatched it from my atelier and moved it to his office. Well, OK...he is my biggest fan if you wanna know.
