Summer Summer Summer Time

Hi everyone! How is your summer going so far? Mine has been crazy busy! We had just completed a new project here at Marie's Maison. A covered porch addition in my backyard. This is a great addition to mon petite maison especially because it connects to our kitchen, which I have been wanting to do for a long time now.

We converted our small kitchen window to a french door with side vents which now gives us access to the new porch. This is how it looks now.

This porch is just the right size for mon cheri et moi. It gives us an additional room so we can now dine al fresco.

We just had a party, so I was desperate for lights and added those party string lights. We added a skylight to the porch cover so the light still filters inside our kitchen.

Because we have lots of birds in our backyard, I thought this sign that reads Bird Cafe is perfect. I ordered it custom made from a talented Etsy seller.

There's also a daybed in there so I can take short afternoon naps especially this summer.

The other thing that kept me busy was preparing for mon cheri's graduation. He just received his master's degree in Creative Writing. We had a grad party for him, the theme was steam punk.

I know, it doesn't look right, steam punk in a beach cottage home, but I did the best I can (haha!)

 

 

Things are now back to normal and I'm hoping to have a slow but fun summer. No big projects, just continuing to expand mon petite shop at Olde Ivy and my online Etsy shop. Please visit me when you can.
