Romancing Your Home

It's been a year since mon petite maison got published in Romantic Country magazine. I was trying to organize my photos online and got side tracked (you know how that goes) looking at photos I took that day. I remembered being greeted with so much flowers, beautiful, sweet scented flowers in every room of my home.

Just look at these flowers...so sweet and delightful!!!

Since this photo of my dining room got published in the magazine article, it's gone through so many changes already in just twelve months. Have I mentioned, I have ADD when it comes to home decor???

I guess this is why I delve into buying and selling decor items for the home. I get to try out something new and old for my home. It is my way of "romancing ma petite maison!" Here's the "after" compared to the "before" above.

As you can see, I have lots more going on with that back wall, more french blue collectibles.

The biggest noticeable change are the blue doors which I love, love, love! Je t'aime...j'adore!!!

I also changed my table. This table is an upcycled antique sewing machine base. Mon cheri added the table top.

What do you think? Better, too much, or do you prefer the other look?

Mon petite living room also got changed from this photo that was also published in Romantic Country. This was before.

And this is how it looks now.

Well, just sharing some new look inside Marie's Maison. Enjoy this last wonderful photo of goodness below, also taken last year during the magazine shoot.

By the way, if you are ever looking to "Romancing Your Home" and thinking of adding, changing, or editing to your decor, please check into my Etsy shop. I have many decorative items to suit your french, eclectic, vintage, bohemian, rustic and industrial style.

Au revoir for now!

Sunday Breakfast Ala Francaise

I love Sunday mornings! Mostly because it's relaxing for moi, I can sleep in and not have to rush anywhere to do errands, or whatever. I also like that mon cheri or moi take turns to cook breakfast on Sunday mornings. This Sunday was my turn, so I experimented on a "petit déjeuner" using some French style cooking.

These two cooking equipment are called "moule d 'oeufs" or egg molds. These ones are vintage style from France that I bought from Maison Maudie through Etsy. The way she described the method of cooking made me purchase these molds because the method is called "Bain Marie."

"Bain Marie" literally translates to Bath Marie. Basically, you put your eggs on these molds, I added some herbs de provence and sea salt on mine, and let them cook in very hot or boiling water as shown below.

Voila, so cute!

And here's what ma "petit déjeuner" looked like on my kitchen table

I also made some breakfast souffle made of good ol' American Pillsbury biscuits presented ala Francaise. If you ever want to know how to make this really simple recipe, just click here.

J'adore how they turned out, especially looks yummy with the sauce oozing out of the cups!

Last but not least, delishus cafe au lait in my authentic vintage "cafe au lait" bowls, also purchased from Maison Maudie. My weekend breakfast is never complete without these. Mon cheri calls it "cafe chocolat" and he says the best ever!

Since the 4th of July is coming, you can make this breakfast ala Francais. Hey, that Pillsbury biscuit is 100% American! And by the way, although I am French at heart, I still consider myself very lucky to be living in the United States and call myself an American!

May you have lots of beautiful fireworks this summer!!!

P.S. When you have time, please visit my Etsy shoppe as well where I have a melange of American and French style decor. Au revoir for now.
